Abstract:
Set on the moors of Devonshire, the story concerns a titled family and an old curse. According to legend, the Baskervilles have been pursued by a 'savage hound from Hell' since 1650. When Sir Henry Baskerville arrives to take over the estate after yet another tragic death, Holmes is consulted by a close family friend who fears for the young man's life. Though Henry is intrigued and amused by the legend, Holmes takes it quite seriously, and through clever subterfuge, brilliant deduction, and the invaluable help of Dr. Watson, ultimately unveils the true nature of the horror that haunts the Baskervilles.
