Magnolia blossom: Trapped in a marriage of convenience, Theodora Darrell falls into an unexpected romance. Torn between the man who loves her and the husband who needs her, Theo searches for the freedom she so desperately desires.

The case of the discontented soldier: An army major returned from life abroad feels restless and bored in his new English village. He consults Parker Pyne to find the excitement and danger missing from his life - plus a little something extra.

The girl in the train: After losing his job, a young investment broker seeks some adventure in his life. He finds it on a train to Portsmouth when a beautiful blonde darts into his compartment and entangles him in international intrigue.

The fourth man: On the night train from London to Scotland, a lawyer, a clergyman, and a doctor discuss a celebrated case of multiple personalities. When a fourth traveler joins their compartment, he makes them question everything they once believed.

Jane in search of a job: Desperate for work, a young Englishwoman takes a job posing as a double for a visiting duchess. She's undeterred by the potential danger, but her policeman friend feels less sanguine about the whole affair - and he may have cause for his concern.

The manhood of Edward Robinson: Although he should be saving for his wedding, when meek Edward Robinson wins the lottery, he buys a sports car and takes off on a journey. A case of mistaken identity later, Edward finds himself in the midst of a grand adventure.

The case of the middle-aged wife: Suspecting her husband of having an affair, a housewife pays a visit to Parker Pyne, a self-proclaimed expert in happiness. Part of his unusual treatment includes introducing her to a young French beau.

In a glass darkly: At an engagement party for a friend's sister, an army officer has a disturbing vision - and warns the young woman against the marriage. After returning from World War I, he finds her again and realizes the true meaning of his prophecy.

The mystery of the blue jar: Puttering around the links, a golfer repeatedly hears female cries of "Murder! Help! Murder!" But when he investigates, he can find nothing amiss. Why can't the woman at the nearby cottage hear the cries? He turns to an expert on psychic phenomena for help.

The red signal: An elderly gentleman is shot dead after attending a sÔeance foretelling imminent danger and death - the dreaded "red signal." Suspicion falls on the man's nephew, who was recently disinherited for admitting that he loves his best friend's wife.

From renowned mystery writer Agatha Christie come these 10 tales of intrigue and romance set in art deco era England. In these suspenseful stories, lesser known Christie protagonists including happiness expert Parker Pyne find themselves embroiled in illicit love affairs, supernatural mysteries, false accusations, life changing encounters, and murder.
